Following Jefferson’s 25th Anniversary, our new Marian McLain expression is a tribute to our founder’s 8th generation grandmother. “In 1799, Marian McLain was arrested for distilling and selling whiskey without paying taxes. She didn’t do it to rebel, but as a war-widowed mother, she had to find a way to provide for her children. Marian McLain is my eighth-generation grandmother and the inspiration for Jefferson’s Bourbon.
